SEBAS GUILLEM

Background & Musical Education

Sebas Guillem operates in the kind of sonic cloud where gospel’s fervor, soul’s depth, and pop’s punch meet—so gracefully tangled, you almost don’t notice until his voice hits. A Costa Rican singer-songwriter with roots in church choirs and a taste for emotional honesty, he didn’t burst into the scene with a flashy debut. Instead, he quietly—and effectively—claimed Talento Nacional on Repretel, then proved he belonged by turning up on Batalla de Talentos. No glossy backstory, just raw gravitas and a voice that won people's hearts.
In 2017 he dropped “So Long,” a soul-infused anthem of letting go and stepping into your own. It wasn’t a breakthrough hit; it was the opening statement of a craftsman announcing his arrival. Since then, every move he’s made has felt less like sprinting and more like tuning—a steady rise of someone who distrusts shortcuts.
Fast forward through recent years: he lent his voice to Fuego’s “El Viaje (Radio Edit)” in early 2024, slipped into a dancey remix mode with “Vamos Otra Vez” later that same year, then dropped “Only You”—a worship-tinged meditation rooted in gospel traditions. January 2025 saw “Nadie Como Tú (Live),” an eight-minute live collaboration w/ Jesus Co. that feels like an intimate confession, followed by the live EP In Wonder, capturing Guillem at his most unfiltered self.
Each release is less a bid for numbers and more a footprint left by someone forging a path—faithful to roots, restless enough to explore.
